Among the star attractions on offer are six works by legendary street artist Banksy, including limited edition canvas ‘Petrol Head’ (Lot 45, estimate £10,000-£15,000). Also on offer is Nick Walkers ‘Moona Lisa’ (Lot 83, £6,000-8,000) a unique rendition in gold, the previous Moona Lisa he produced in silver which sold for £54,000 in 2008.
There are also some rare works by American graffiti legends such as Seen, Cope 2, LA II, Daze and two canvas works by the recently departed Stay High 149, a graffiti king who sadly passed away on June 11th 2012.
Mary McCarthy, Director of Urban and Contemporary Art at Dreweatts explained: “Once again, we have provided a platform for the keen collector to view an incredible selection of some of the leading urban and contemporary artists of today, opportunities for buyers to grab a few bargains, not least with an original Banksy available for £10,000 but also there is a lovely little Damien Hirst drawing available for £2,000.
If you are a die-hard graffiti fan then there is a chance to buy an original 1988 exhibition poster of ‘3 American Graffiti’ signed by Seen, Blade and Quik for £600 (Lot 74). If you are or have been a boarder then the skate decks by Kaws, D*Face, Murakami, Marilyn Minter and Chris Wool will certainly be too your liking or your childrens!”.
