Since 2016 Ashley has run Dreweatts’ Interiors Auctions. He is a graduate of the Open University where he earnt a degree in Humanities with Art History. He has also recently gained Professional Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Prior to joining Dreweatts, Ashley worked for two firms of auctioneers in the South West of England where he started to acquire the specialist knowledge required to catalogue. Having previously worked for Dreweatts as a porter, he now takes overall responsibility for our Interiors auctions and assists in the cataloguing of many other sales in our auction calendar. His specialties cover furniture, clocks, decorative arts and modern works of art.
Ashley has a wide range of interests including Natural History and was elected a Fellow of the Linnean Society in early 2021. He is able to combine this personal interest with his professional role when cataloguing and researching collections of antique taxidermy.
In his time at Dreweatts, Ashley has worked on the on-site cataloguing of various single owner collections including 'Aynhoe Park: The Celebration of A Modern Grand Tour', 'Property from The Ballyedmond Collection, Belgrave Square' and 'The Contents of Finchcocks Musical Museum, Kent'. He has also represented Dreweatts internationally working on the three sales held in collaboration with Piet Jonker in the Netherlands.
